More Than Roofing

Committed to Community

More Than Roofing

At Three Mountain Roofing we believe that our responsibility extends beyond the roofs that we build. Our dedication to excellence is matched by our commitment to the communities that we serve and live in. From rotary and farmers markets to youth sports leagues, we proudly support them because we live here too. That is why we’ve asked each member of the TMR family to choose a charity close to their heart to support and promote. We invite you to join us in making a difference. Below, you will find personal stories from our team members about the charities they support and how you can contribute to these worthy causes. Together, we can make a difference and build a stronger community.

Vermont Food Bank

Food insecurity in our country is a far larger problem than one would ever imagine, and Vermont is no different. I’ve gone through a lot of things in my life but going hungry fortunately was not one of them, and I believe that our neighbors shouldn’t either. When children go to school on an empty stomach it makes it harder to concentrate and retain the information that they are being taught. This ultimately puts them at a disadvantage in life, one that is avoidable. Adults are similarly affected. If you’re worrying about where your next meal is coming from, it’s hard to focus on anything else. Please consider the Vermont Food Bank for your charitable giving.

Jenna’s Promise

Jenna’s Promise resonates with me as first and foremost I am a mother. Addiction can happen to anyone and that is really the story of the creation of Jenna’s Promise. The folks at Jenna’s Promise work hard at turning lives around and helping people learn a new pathway. We are proud to support their mission!

Lamoille Area Cancer Network

Unfortunately, most of us have either lost someone to cancer, know someone who has or had cancer, or have battled cancer ourselves. I have survived breast cancer twice, and Lamoille Area Cancer Network has supported me both times. Lamoille Area Cancer Network is a non-profit organization that recognized the need to assist people in our local Vermont communities that have been diagnosed with cancer. The physical and emotional stress of being diagnosed with and beginning the battle with cancer can be overwhelming. The financial burden of the fight grows as well. It is LACN’s goal to help lessen the impact. The mission of LACN is to act as an emergency fund source to assist families and individuals in the Lamoille Area with small grants while they are going through their journey with cancer. Thanks to the generous support of our Vermont community, that continues to make families’ lives facing cancer easier financially.

American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

My family has participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Chittenden County for 19 years, including this year. We gathered at the Fairgrounds on June 9th to celebrate the survivors and remember the folks that have lost their battle with cancer. We have also participated for many years in the Franklin County relay as well as doing a cross-country ski version of relay a few winters ago at Trapp Family Lodge. My Mom started our team, “WE ARE FAMILY,” when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was in remission for a while but eventually lost the battle. I am a cancer survivor. We continue to Relay every year as we believe we can win this fight eventually. The funds generated are used for research to help find more cures for cancer. The list of survivors continues to grow as more cures are developed. Thanks so much for your support.

Green Mountain Club

The Green Mountain Club is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. It has provided me with the opportunity to gain a different perspective on education and the world we live in. For over a decade I taught outdoor education, which helped form me into the person I am today. I used the Green Mountain trail systems and resources to build curriculum and create experiences for others to have empathy for nature. The well-maintained trails and shelters provided me with areas to be in nature that cultivated my grit, self-esteem, awareness and strength (physically and mentally). Every time I find myself hiking in the Green Mountains I feel at home. Thank you, Green Mountain Club, for protecting and maintaining the Long Trail System and fostering, through education, the stewardship of Vermont’s hiking trails and mountains!

Flyin Ryan

As an avid outdoorsman and someone who has always followed their heart, I have a deep connection with their mission and statement of purpose “To extend the impact and spirit of Ryan Hawks to make the world a better place one person, one day, one event, one Core Value, one decision at a time. The Flyin Ryan Hawks Foundation exists to challenge students, athletes and others to independently explore what is important to them and to take ownership of those ideas by composing a personal set of Core Values to serve as the basis for their daily attitude and decision making. We believe that an internally imposed sense of identity is a vital component of a life that reflects high quality decisions and a greater sense of well-being.” Additionally, RYAN’S CORE PRINCIPLES FOR LIVING help reaffirm a personal philosophy for me to abide by daily: Live every day, all day. Never stop exploring life. Never lose my adventuresome attitude. Be the best friend I can be. Be the best brother, son, and uncle I can be.

American Red Cross

I support the American Red Cross because of its vital role in disaster response, blood donation and humanitarian aid. The organization’s primary purpose is to alleviate human suffering in emergencies, provide blood products, and support health and safety training. Their commitment to saving lives and aiding communities aligns with my values, making it a cause worth supporting. I’ve been an avid blood donor since high school and have donated over 78 units… and counting! To learn more about American Red Cross, visit: www.redcrossblood.org

Smile Train

I was born with a cleft pallet and had a corrective surgery as an infant.  It wasn’t until much later in life I had a great moment of gratitude to realize how lucky I was to have such a great surgery performed.  Smile Train is the largest cleft-focused organization with a model of true sustainability — providing training, funding, and resources to empower local medical professionals in 75+ countries to provide 100%-free cleft surgery and other forms of essential cleft care in their own communities.

The Vermont Suicide Prevention Center

I lost my close friend to suicide ten years ago. Each year, on the anniversary of his passing, I take a hike in his memory. This is my way of celebrating his life and clearing my mind. As I walk through the beauty of nature, I remind myself of countless reasons to cherish our lives. It’s a time for reflection, gratitude, and embracing the world around us.

About The Vermont Suicide Prevention Center (VTSPC) : “serves as a state-wide resource fostering a sustainable approach to suicide prevention in Vermont.” Their mission: “is to create health-promoting communities in which schools, institutions of higher education, public and private agencies, and people of all ages have the knowledge, attitudes, skills and resources to reduce the risk of suicide.”
